Jets Hit by Multiple Key Injuries, Wilson Out

The New York Jets are dealing with a widening injury and roster crisis: top receiver Garrett Wilson was inactive for the Panthers game with a hyperextended knee and may miss additional time. Cornerback Sauce Gardner is sidelined with a concussion and is unlikely to play Sunday against the Bengals. Those absences compound New York’s 0-7 slide and come amid quarterback instability — Justin Fields was benched and Tyrod Taylor is managing knee issues, increasing the chance the team turns back to Fields if Taylor can’t play. With Wilson out, veterans Josh Reynolds, Allen Lazard and Arian Smith are expected to take larger roles while rookie tight end Mason Taylor and RB Breece Hall could see more targets. Additional practice limitations to monitor include Cam Jones, Kene Nwangwu and Jay Tufele, while Jermaine Johnson and Qwan’tez Stiggers have returned to full participation.
