Pliant secures $40M funding for US expansion
Pliant, a Berlin-based fintech specializing in B2B payment solutions, has raised $40 million in a Series B funding round led by Illuminate Financial and Speedinvest, with participation from PayPal Ventures and Motive Ventures. This brings the company's total funding to over $100 million and will support its expansion into the U.S. market. Pliant provides a platform enabling businesses to manage expenses, automate payments, and issue physical and virtual credit cards, already serving over 3,500 businesses across Europe. The funding will be used to build a local U.S. team, expand its partner network, and invest in talent and infrastructure. Recent partnerships, such as with Commerzbank, and the acquisition of Austrian Insurtech hi.health, reflect Pliant's strategy to broaden its offerings and apply its expertise to new industries. Investors cite Pliant's rapid growth and its ambition to modernize corporate payments as key drivers of their support.
