During the Gold Coast 500 Supercars qualifying session, 2023 Supercars champion Brodie Kostecki crashed his Ford Mustang into a tyre wall at the Surfers Paradise street circuit, resulting in injuries to four photographers standing behind the barrier. The photographers sustained ankle, elbow, and head injuries but were reported to be stable and alert while being transported to hospital for further assessment.
