Louisville Teen Dies in Westport Road Motorcycle Crash

Eighteen-year-old Xander Rothrock, a Ballard High School student, died after being ejected from his motorcycle in a single-vehicle crash on Westport Road near Rollington Road in Louisville on Wednesday afternoon. Louisville Metro Police reported that Rothrock left the roadway for unknown reasons and was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital in critical condition, where he later died. The crash prompted the closure of Westport Road in both directions as the LMPD Traffic Unit investigated the scene. No other injuries were reported in the incident. Ballard High School notified its students and families of Rothrock’s passing and is providing mental health support. The investigation into the cause of the crash remains ongoing.
