Joaquin Niemann secured his third LIV Golf title of the season with a victory at Club de Golf Chapultepec in Mexico City, earning him a coveted spot at the 2025 US Open at Oakmont. This win, marked by a final-round 65 and a dramatic birdie on the 18th, ensured Niemann could not be caught in the standings by any non-exempt LIV player before the USGA's cutoff, making him the first LIV player to qualify for a major via the league’s points pathway. Niemann expressed relief at bypassing the traditional 36-hole qualifying process, highlighting the significance of this new route for LIV competitors. He outperformed Bryson DeChambeau and Lucas Herbert, who tied for second, while Jon Rahm led his team, Legion XIII, to the team title. The R&A is also offering an Open Championship spot to the highest-placed LIV golfer in the top five of the standings after the Dallas event.
