Longview Officer Injured in Shooting During Vehicle Burglary Response

A Longview police officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries after being shot while responding to a vehicle burglary on March 8, 2025. The incident unfolded around 11:22 p.m. when officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Lincoln Drive and discovered a suspect in a second vehicle on Kenwood Drive. During the attempt to detain the armed suspect, he shot one officer, prompting other officers to administer first aid before the injured officer was taken to a local hospital. The suspect was quickly apprehended and is facing multiple charges, though his identity has not been disclosed. The Longview Police Department is continuing to investigate the incident. All involved have been reported to be receiving appropriate care and support.
