Unsinkable Hotels Plans $30M Titanic-Themed Boutique in Columbus by 2028

Unsinkable Hotels, a start-up hospitality company under Historical Hospitality Group, plans to open a $30 million Titanic-themed boutique hotel in Columbus, Ohio, by 2028. The hotel aims to immerse guests in the luxury and ambiance of 1912 with period-specific decor, 50 to 55 staterooms, fine dining modeled after the Titanic’s first-class saloon, a Turkish bath-style spa, a rooftop bar, and other upscale amenities. Columbus is historically connected to the Titanic, with several passengers bound for Ohio, and the hotel’s location will be within a Qualified Opportunity Zone to encourage economic development. Founder and CEO Andrew Messing, inspired by a lifelong fascination with the Titanic, intends the hotel to offer an immersive experience that combines the grandeur of the Gilded Age with modern comforts. The project is currently seeking investors and aims to finalize its site by early 2026, with construction expected to last about 18 months. This unique venture is positioned to become a distinctive landmark in Columbus, blending historical storytelling with upscale hospitality.
