New Jersey Sues Amazon for Discriminating Against Thousands of Pregnant, Disabled Warehouse Workers

New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin has filed a lawsuit against Amazon, alleging the company discriminated against pregnant employees and workers with disabilities at its state warehouses by denying reasonable accommodation requests, placing them on unpaid leave, and firing some who sought accommodations. The suit, based on a years-long investigation, claims Amazon routinely retaliates against these workers and enforces strict productivity quotas that lead to termination after accommodations are granted. Amazon denies these allegations, stating it approves over 99% of pregnancy accommodation requests and emphasizes its commitment to employee health and safety. The lawsuit seeks damages and an injunction requiring changes to Amazon's employment practices to prevent further discrimination.
