Tokyo Man Rams Car Into Osaka Schoolchildren

Yazawa Yuki, a 28-year-old man from Tokyo, was arrested in Osaka after deliberately ramming his car into a group of seven elementary school children as they walked home, seriously injuring a 7-year-old girl and causing milder injuries to six boys. Yazawa admitted to police he intended to kill the children out of frustration and has been charged with attempted murder. Witnesses said the car zigzagged before the attack, and teachers dragged the unremorseful driver from his vehicle as the injured children remained conscious. The 7-year-old girl was left 'covered in blood,' and all victims were hospitalized. The incident, rare in Japan, has drawn comparisons to the 2008 Akihabara rampage.
