Samsung, Qualcomm Prep 2025 Foldables and Chips

Samsung is preparing significant updates to its mobile and wearable products in 2025, including new Galaxy Watch models and enhancements to its foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7. The company has reportedly reduced foldable production by up to 40% due to high prices and slower adoption but is introducing a more affordable Galaxy Z Flip FE. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 may be the first Samsung foldable to use the in-house Exynos 2500 chip, while the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to retain Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite for performance. Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip, produced by both Samsung (2nm) and TSMC (3nm), promises significant performance improvements. Competition is intensifying, with Motorola's Razr Ultra (2025) expected to launch before Samsung's next flip model. Samsung continues to pursue greater use of Exynos chips, despite ongoing concerns over efficiency and consumer perception.
