Multiple School Lockdowns Follow Weapons Reports, No Weapons Found

Multiple schools in the U.K. and U.S. were placed on lockdown or tightened security after separate reports of weapons prompted police responses. In Sheridan, Colorado, Sheridan High School and SOAR were locked down after an anonymous Safe2Tell report of a weapon, with the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office and Sheridan police (including K9s) investigating. A Clovis-area high school in California also went into lockdown after a reported shooting prompted precautionary security measures. In Bognor Regis, West Sussex, armed officers and police dogs searched Frith Road and nearby areas after reports of a man with a suspected firearm; schools including Regis School were held on lockdown for over two hours. Sussex Police later confirmed the sighting involved a 14-year-old boy in fancy dress carrying a toy gun, no offensive weapons were found, and authorities said callers acted in good faith while prioritizing public safety amid distress to pupils and parents. Authorities have contacted the boy’s family and all affected schools have since reopened.
