New York Woman Arrested Driving 102 MPH with Toddler on I-95
A 37-year-old Brooklyn woman, Danielle DaSilva, was arrested after being caught driving 102 mph on Interstate 95 in Connecticut with her 2-year-old child in the back seat. She reportedly told state troopers she was speeding because she was running late to a 'Thomas the Train' event in Essex. The car also had an adult male passenger and was stopped in the center median by police. DaSilva was charged with reckless driving, second-degree reckless endangerment, risk of injury to a minor, and failure to stop on the right side of the road. She was released on a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court in May. The 'Day Out with Thomas: The Party Tour' event offers train rides and family activities celebrating the beloved children's franchise.
