Israel Launches Multiple Strikes on Gaza After Reported Hamas Ceasefire Violations Killing Dozens
The Israeli military has conducted multiple strikes against Hamas in Gaza following accusations that Hamas violated the ceasefire agreement by firing anti-tank missiles and gunfire toward Israeli troops in the Rafah area. Israel responded with a "massive and extensive wave" of air strikes targeting dozens of Hamas positions, claiming these actions were in response to attacks on its forces. Hamas denies these allegations, asserting it is adhering to the ceasefire and has no knowledge of any incidents in Rafah, an area under Israeli control, where contact with Hamas has reportedly been cut off since March. The escalation has resulted in at least 15 Palestinian deaths and has caused fear and panic among Gaza's civilian population, with concerns about a potential return to full-scale conflict. Meanwhile, the Israeli Defense Forces also reported killing armed Palestinian operatives near the ceasefire "Yellow Line" in northern Gaza who posed an imminent threat to their troops. These developments have put the fragile U.S.-brokered ceasefire at risk, with both sides blaming each other for breaches.
