Eastpointe Man Nico Trevon Nettles Faces Trial for 2025 Detroit Fatal Stabbing

Nico Trevon Nettles, 27, from Eastpointe, has been ordered to stand trial on second-degree murder charges for fatally stabbing Rashid Aliakbar, 28, in an altercation at a home in Eastpointe in May 2025. The stabbing occurred during a fight linked to a love triangle, with Nettles reportedly the ex-boyfriend of a woman residing in the home where the victim was also involved. After the incident, Nettles was arrested at the scene and remains in custody with a $2 million bond.
