Ancelotti Confirmed as Brazil Coach Through 2026

Carlo Ancelotti has been officially appointed as Brazil's head coach, becoming the first foreign manager to lead the Seleção in nearly a century. The 65-year-old Italian will take over after a disappointing, trophyless season with Real Madrid, following mutual agreement between the Spanish club and the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF). Ancelotti's contract reportedly runs through the 2026 World Cup, with an option to extend. His debut as Brazil coach is set for World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Paraguay in early June 2025. Real Madrid are expected to announce Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso as his successor. Ancelotti is already considering recalling veteran midfielder Casemiro to the national team.
