Broward Center Announces Summer 2025 Arts for Action Series

The Broward Center for the Performing Arts and The Parker Playhouse have announced the summer lineup for 'Arts for Action: Black Voices,' a series dedicated to elevating Black artists and highlighting the transformative power of the arts. The centerpiece event, 'Remember The Times! Live,' pays tribute to the cultural impact of Black American sitcoms from the 1970s to the 1990s, blending live music, theater, dance, poetry, and film. The production, now in its third consecutive year, features original arrangements, spoken word, and storytelling, and will be led by musical director Waldron Dunkley Jr. and director Tanisha Cidel. Discounted tickets are available for students and teachers, and each performance includes a post-show Q&A to foster community engagement and dialogue about the legacy and influence of Black media. The event is supported by local organizations and aims to use the arts as a force for social change. The lineup underscores the ongoing importance of celebrating Black voices and histories through creative expression.
