Draisaitl, Hellebuyck, Kucherov Named 2024-25 Hart Trophy Finalists
The NHL has announced Edmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl, Winnipeg Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck, and Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov as the finalists for the 2024-25 Hart Memorial Trophy, awarded to the league's most valuable player. Draisaitl, a previous Hart winner, led the NHL in goals this season with 52 and tallied 106 points, further contributing significantly to the Oilers' playoff push. Hellebuyck, also a Vezina Trophy finalist, posted a standout season with a league-leading 47 wins, eight shutouts, and a .925 save percentage, helping the Jets secure the Presidents’ Trophy. Kucherov, another former Hart recipient, topped the NHL in scoring with 121 points, earning his second consecutive Art Ross Trophy. The Hart Trophy is decided by members of the Professional Hockey Writers’ Association. Hellebuyck joins a select group of goaltenders who have been Hart finalists in the past decade, highlighting his exceptional season.
