Police Arrests Suspects in Southeast D.C. Shootings

Smith was apprehended following a review of surveillance footage, which led to his identification as the suspect. He has been charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) after allegedly wounding a man during the incident. The arrest took place on April 13, showcasing a prompt response from law enforcement. This follows another recent arrest in the area, where 31-year-old Mickyel Goodwin was charged in a separate shooting incident that occurred on March 17. The MPD continues to address gun violence in the district, with multiple cases under investigation.
