CBS Greenlights 'CIA' FBI Spinoff for 2025

CBS has officially ordered a new series titled 'CIA', a spinoff of the FBI franchise, set to premiere in the 2025-2026 television season. Tom Ellis will star as a fast-talking, rule-breaking CIA case officer, teamed with a yet-to-be-cast, by-the-book FBI agent. The series will follow their partnership at the CIA's New York Station as they handle cases that threaten U.S. security. 'CIA' was initially planned as a planted spinoff in the main FBI series but received a straight-to-series order after the recent cancellations of 'FBI: Most Wanted' and 'FBI: International.' The show is created by Dick Wolf, David Hudgins (also showrunner), Nicole Perlman, and former CIA officer David Chasteen. CBS aims to expand its franchise universe with this new addition.
