Over 350,000 Bio Ionic Curling Irons Recalled Across US, Canada After Burn Injuries

J&D Brush Company has recalled approximately 357,000 Bio Ionic One-Inch-Long Barrel Curling Irons in the US and 3,000 in Canada due to a burn hazard where the curling iron's barrel can detach during use. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reported 258 incidents of the barrel snapping off, resulting in six minor burn injuries. The recalled model is LXT-CL-1.0 with date codes between 0722 and 1223, sold from August 2022 through July 2024 for about $165 at retailers including Amazon, Ulta, Sephora, Nordstrom, and SalonCentric, as well as in salons nationwide. Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the product, unplug it, and contact Bio Ionic for a free replacement, which requires cutting off the plug and returning it via prepaid shipping. The company has provided customer service contacts and instructions for returning the product safely. This recall highlights a significant safety concern for users of this popular hair styling tool.
