Mother drags officers with car during traffic stop in Aviemore

Lauren Baird, 43, was stopped by police in Aviemore, Scotland, after officers discovered her vehicle was uninsured. When confronted and informed of her impending arrest, Baird gave false identification and then abruptly sped off, dragging two officers along the road as captured on police dashcam footage. One officer managed to free himself quickly, but a female officer was dragged for several yards and sustained serious injuries, leaving her reliant on crutches and unable to return to work. Both officers required hospital treatment for multiple injuries. Baird later admitted in court to culpable and reckless conduct endangering the officers’ lives, attempting to pervert the course of justice, and driving without a license or insurance. The court also heard that Baird tried to conceal her identity and vehicle after the incident.
