Playboi Carti Charged in Utah Limo Assault

Jordan Terrell Carter, known as Playboi Carti, was cited and charged with a class B misdemeanor assault in Wasatch County after limousine driver Carl Reynolds reported that Carti struck and injured him during an Oct. 2 altercation while transporting Carti and his girlfriend from the Waldorf Astoria to rehearsals in Park City/Heber City. Police photographed Reynolds’s facial bruising and documented witness accounts that Carti also allegedly struck his girlfriend and that Carti’s head of security intervened. Charging documents show an arrest and citation were filed in early October and Carti is due back in court in December; the Wasatch County investigation remains ongoing. Audio dispatch calls obtained by TMZ allege Carti threatened to “hit and shoot” another driver, Lance Hayes, before leaving the scene, though he has not been charged over that claimed threat. Carti’s Antagonist 2.0 tour proceeded with an Oct. 3 kickoff, the driver says he plans to retain counsel, and Carti’s representatives have not publicly fully responded.
