McDonald's Plans Hiring 375,000 Workers Across US This Summer

McDonald’s has announced a major hiring initiative, aiming to recruit 375,000 employees across the U.S. this summer, making it the company’s largest hiring spree in years. This push is linked to McDonald’s plan to open 900 new U.S. restaurants by 2027 and respond to increased summer demand, despite recently reporting its worst U.S. quarterly sales drop since 2020, with same-store sales falling 3.6%. The new roles, which are mostly permanent, come with benefits like tuition assistance, as highlighted by the company’s Archways to Opportunity program. Locations in states such as New York and Oregon will see thousands of new hires, with 16,400 positions in New York alone. The announcement was made alongside U.S. Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer, reflecting ongoing engagement between McDonald’s leadership and federal officials amid broader national efforts to boost domestic investment and job creation. McDonald’s currently operates over 38,000 locations worldwide and aims to reach 50,000 by 2027.
