Plane Diverted to Golf Course Lands Safely
A small airplane diverted from Santa Monica Airport made a safe emergency landing at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades just before 1 p.m. on Friday, at 1250 N. Capri Drive. All three people aboard were unharmed, and crews from the Los Angeles and Santa Monica Fire Departments responded to the scene. The reason for the diversion remains unclear, and firefighters assessed the aircraft for possible damage. No injuries or immediate hazards were reported. The incident recalls previous emergency landings involving planes connected to Santa Monica Airport at local golf courses, including a 2015 incident with actor Harrison Ford.
