Chicago Police Seek Suspect in Molotov Cocktail Attacks on Cannabis Dispensaries
Chicago police are investigating two arson incidents in which a masked man used Molotov cocktails to set fire to cannabis dispensaries on the city's North and Northwest sides. The attacks occurred in the early morning hours of April 19 on North Milwaukee Avenue and April 27 on North Damen Avenue. Surveillance footage and witness reports describe the suspect as a male about 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing between 190 and 240 pounds, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, black gym shoes, a face mask, and a black fanny pack slung across his body. In both cases, the suspect broke the dispensary window before throwing the incendiary device inside and fleeing. Police are urging anyone with information to contact the Chicago Police Department's Arson Section or submit tips anonymously. Business owners are also advised to increase security measures and alert neighboring businesses.
