Nebraska Volleyball Defeats Kansas in Kelly's Coaching Debut
Nebraska volleyball began a new chapter under head coach Dani Busboom Kelly with a commanding four-set sweep over Kansas in their spring match at the newly named John Cook Arena. The sold-out crowd witnessed strong performances from Andi Jackson, Rebekah Allick, and freshman Ryan Hunter, each tallying 11 kills, while setters Bergen Reilly and Campbell Flynn shared duties. The Huskers demonstrated depth by rotating liberos Laney Choboy and Olivia Mauch, who contributed 18 and 12 digs respectively. Nebraska finished with a .285 hitting percentage, eight blocks, and six aces, while Kansas managed a .214 hitting mark. The match also marked the first event in the Husker Games, spotlighting the volleyball, football, and soccer teams. Busboom Kelly, who succeeds legendary coach John Cook, aims to maintain Nebraska's tradition of excellence as the program looks ahead to the fall season.
