Virginia Tech Lands Transfer Kody Huisman from North Dakota State

Virginia Tech has secured North Dakota State defensive tackle Kody Huisman as their first spring transfer portal addition, aiming to bolster their defensive line depth for the upcoming season. Huisman, who played 45 games over four years at NDSU, delivered a standout 2024 campaign with 37 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, a forced fumble, and two blocked kicks, earning an 80.7 overall PFF grade and an 86.6 run defense score. He is expected to immediately compete for a significant role or starting spot alongside Kelvin Gilliam, with competition from Kemari Copeland, Arias Nash, and Emmett Laws.
