Netflix will premiere 'The Seat,' a 45-minute documentary on May 5, following Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team's decision to promote 18-year-old Kimi Antonelli from Formula 2 to replace Lewis Hamilton, who has joined Ferrari. Directed by Kyle Thrash and co-produced by WhatsApp and Mercedes, the film offers unprecedented access to private WhatsApp conversations and behind-the-scenes deliberations during the selection process. The documentary explores Antonelli’s rapid rise in racing, his personal journey from Bologna, and his role as the team's third-youngest rookie.
