Marty Pollio Named Ivy Tech Community College President

Dr. Marty Pollio, currently the superintendent of Jefferson County Public Schools in Louisville, has been selected as the 10th president of Ivy Tech Community College in Indiana, with his term beginning July 1. Pollio brings nearly three decades of experience in public education, having started as a teacher and advancing to superintendent, where he was noted for both reforms and challenges, including issues with student transportation. Ivy Tech officials praised Pollio's dynamic leadership and passion for students, expressing confidence that he will continue the institution’s innovation and growth as Indiana’s largest postsecondary institution, serving over 200,000 students across 19 campuses and online. Pollio succeeds Dr. Sue Ellspermann, who is retiring after nearly a decade as president. Pollio stated he is honored to join Ivy Tech and aims to further enhance educational value for Indiana’s students and communities. His selection followed a comprehensive search involving faculty, staff, and community stakeholders.
