Joseph Parker to face Usyk-Dubois winner for WBO title
Joseph Parker, the WBO interim world champion and longstanding mandatory challenger, is set to face the winner of the upcoming Oleksandr Usyk vs. Daniel Dubois heavyweight unification bout at Wembley Stadium on July 19. Promoter Frank Warren and the WBO have confirmed that whoever emerges as the undisputed champion from the Usyk-Dubois fight must defend the titles against Parker, positioning him for a shot at all four major belts. Parker, who was previously scheduled to fight Dubois before the latter withdrew due to illness, has maintained momentum with a string of victories, including over Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang. While some believed Parker was disadvantaged by missing out on an earlier title shot, Warren emphasized that he now stands to benefit even more with the opportunity to challenge for undisputed glory. Additionally, the heavyweight landscape is further energized by contenders like Derek Chisora, who may also be in line for a future title opportunity. The WBO clarified that Parker's mandatory status remains intact, guaranteeing his next-in-line position after the unification bout.
