In North Dakota, District 42 Republicans failed to reach a quorum at a special meeting to adopt new bylaws and plan to reconvene on Oct. 20 to vote on procedural changes including voting rights, officer duties, credentialing and conflict‑of‑interest rules. In Florida, the resignation of the District 87 representative has left 114,648 Palm Beach County voters potentially unrepresented in the 2026 legislative session because Governor Ron DeSantis has not yet set dates for a special election to fill the vacancy.
