Stitt Appoints Carson to Education Board Seat

Governor Kevin Stitt has appointed retired special education teacher Becky Carson to the Oklahoma State Board of Education, where she will represent the 5th Congressional District and serve until April 2027, pending Senate confirmation. This seat had been vacant for over 18 months due to prior nominees resigning or not being confirmed by the legislature. Carson, with over 30 years of experience in special education, expressed her commitment to helping every Oklahoma student succeed. This is Stitt's fourth appointment to the board this year, further solidifying his influence over its direction. The State Board of Education and State Superintendent Ryan Walters have acknowledged the appointment. Carson will be sworn in after her oath of office is finalized.
