Multiple U.S. Cities Begin Major Repaving Projects Starting Oct. 27

Multiple cities across the U.S. are initiating repaving projects starting the week of October 27 to improve road and parking infrastructure. The City of Flagstaff is repaving sections of Cedar Avenue and West Street, which involves working on one side of the road at a time and maintaining one lane in each direction, with the goal of reducing post-wildfire flooding impacts. Columbia is resurfacing a portion of Rock Quarry Road south of East Stadium Boulevard, maintaining one lane open with temporary lane closures, expected to finish by November 7. Albuquerque has begun repaving at the Albuquerque International Sunport on I-25 east through the loop to baggage claim, with lane closures scheduled through November 20 to prepare for the holiday season. In Glen Ellyn, Illinois, crews are repaving the Glenwood-Crescent parking lot, which will be closed during construction, and plans include adding trees, decorative lighting, and flowers to enhance the space upon completion. All projects emphasize maintaining traffic flow with one lane open where possible and are subject to weather conditions.
