Counter-terrorism police investigate attack injuring two women in Leeds
Counter Terrorism Policing North East has taken over the investigation into a serious incident in Leeds in which two women were seriously injured and a third person, a 38-year-old man, was arrested with a self-inflicted injury. Police were called to Otley Road in Headingley after reports of a man armed with weapons; officers recovered both a crossbow and a firearm at the scene. The two women were hospitalized, while the suspect was also taken to hospital. Authorities have stated that, based on initial inquiries, no one else is believed to be involved and they are not seeking additional suspects. The motive for the attack remains unclear as investigators continue to gather information, and an extensive police presence remains in the area. Officials have sought to reassure the public that all necessary steps are being taken to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
