Wilco Billy Bragg Plan First Mermaid Avenue Concert Solid Sound Festival

Wilco and British folk singer Billy Bragg will reunite to perform the Mermaid Avenue songbook live for the first time at Wilco's Solid Sound Festival from June 26-28, 2026, at Mass MoCA in North Adams, Massachusetts. Mermaid Avenue is a collaborative project that set previously unheard Woody Guthrie lyrics to new music, resulting in critically acclaimed albums released between 1998 and 2012. Despite performing Mermaid Avenue songs individually over the years, this festival marks the first full joint concert of the material, which includes well-known tracks like "California Stars" and "Way Over Yonder in the Minor Key." Both artists expressed excitement about bringing Guthrie's words to life live, emphasizing the enduring significance of his legacy.
