USS Truman Jet Lost Evading Houthi Attack

A U.S. Navy F/A-18E Super Hornet, valued at $60–$67 million, and its tow tractor were lost overboard from the USS Harry S. Truman in the Red Sea during a towing operation in the hangar bay, after the carrier made a hard evasive turn to avoid Houthi missile and drone fire. The Houthis have claimed responsibility for the attack that preceded the incident, highlighting ongoing threats to U.S. naval forces in the region.
