Netherlands Wins Three Golds at Track Worlds
At the Dutch Short Course Championships in Rotterdam, Milou van Wijk won the women’s 100m freestyle in 52.52 and the meet produced 13 qualification times for the short-course European Championships in Lublin. At the 2025 UCI Track Cycling World Championships in Santiago, Chile, the Netherlands won all three gold medals contested on the opening day. Lorena Wiebes successfully defended her women's scratch title, edging Denmark's Amalie Dideriksen in a final-lap sprint. The Dutch women's team sprint trio Kimberlee Kalee, Hetty van de Wouw and Steffie van der Peet won the Netherlands' first world title in that event, while Jeffrey Hoogland, Harrie Lavreysen and Roy van den Berg retained the men's team sprint, with both finals decided by just three hundredths of a second. Australia and other nations secured bronze medals as the championships continue.
