Man arrested for shooting businessman in Macomb Township

Authorities have arrested a 32-year-old man in connection with the shooting of Macomb Township businessman Eddie Jawad outside his home. The shooting occurred last Tuesday morning, and Jawad sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Surveillance footage captured the suspect in the area hours before the incident and showed him firing shots as Jawad attempted to flee in his SUV. Police and SWAT teams conducted a raid at a Warren residence where the suspect was taken into custody, with assistance from the FBI's Violent Crimes and Gang Task Force. Investigators continue to review evidence and follow leads but have not released information regarding a motive. Jawad is known as the owner of multiple gas stations around Metro Detroit and resides at the location of the attack.
