Viable Pipe Bomb Found After Car Pursuit, Two Arrested in Co Armagh
A viable pipe bomb was discovered in the rear of a white Toyota Land Cruiser following a high-speed police pursuit in County Armagh. The chase began in Lurgan after officers noticed the uninsured vehicle at about 1:15 a.m. and attempted to stop it, but the driver fled. Police deployed a stinger device to halt the car near Keady, where two men aged 22 and 37 were arrested. Ammunition Technical Officers examined and safely neutralized the bomb, and several roads including Granemore Road, Lower Darkley Road, and Dundrum Road were temporarily sealed off during the security alert. The two men remain in police custody while the investigation continues, with authorities appealing for information from the public. All roads have since reopened following the incident.
