Vera Kravtsova, a 26-year-old Belarusian model and former singer, traveled to Thailand in September 2025 after accepting a modeling job offer but subsequently flew to Myanmar, where she disappeared and was reportedly involved in a human trafficking and cybercrime scheme. Thai authorities confirmed Kravtsova left Thailand voluntarily, passing through immigration without coercion, and stated that any incidents occurred after her arrival in Myanmar, beyond their jurisdiction. Multiple reports indicate she was held in a cyber scam camp on the Myanmar border, where victims are forced into online fraud and romance scams, with their passports and phones confiscated. Her family lost contact with her by early October and was later contacted with a ransom demand for her return; after the family refused, they were informed she had died and been cremated. Some sources allege her organs were harvested before cremation, though Belarusian officials have criticized the spread of unverified information.
