2025 Tony Award Nominations Announced, 10 Each for Top Shows

The 78th Annual Tony Award nominations celebrate a diverse Broadway season, with 'Buena Vista Social Club,' 'Death Becomes Her,' and 'Maybe Happy Ending' each leading with 10 nominations. The nominations showcase an innovative mix of genres and highlight both established and debut talents, including George Clooney’s theater debut and Sarah Snook's performance in 'The Picture of Dorian Gray.' New plays such as 'Purpose,' inspired by Jesse Jackson Jr.'s family, also received significant recognition. Revivals of classics like 'Sunset Boulevard,' 'Floyd Collins,' and 'Gypsy' add to the season’s mix. Special honors will be awarded to Harvey Fierstein, Celia Keenan-Bolger, and the musicians of the Buena Vista Social Club band. The ceremony, hosted by Cynthia Erivo, will be held June 8 at Radio City Music Hall.
