Emmanuel College Official Fired After Sex Charges

Jacob Henriques, a 29-year-old former assistant admissions director at Emmanuel College in Boston, was arrested and charged with attempted sex trafficking of a minor after allegedly using his access to applicants' personal information to solicit at least four prospective students, including a 17-year-old girl, for sex. Federal prosecutors allege Henriques sent explicit videos, offered money, and persisted in contacting the minor via email after being blocked. Emmanuel College, a Catholic institution, has fired Henriques, expressed shock at the allegations, and stated support for any victims. Both local police and federal authorities are involved in the investigation. If convicted, Henriques faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years and up to life in prison.
