GM Unveils AI, Robotics Innovations For Next-Gen Vehicles

General Motors (GM) is advancing its vehicle technology with a strong focus on AI, robotics, and autonomous driving, unveiling a comprehensive vision at its GM Forward event. CEO Mary Barra announced plans to introduce "eyes-off" hands-free driving by 2028, debuting on the Cadillac Escalade IQ electric SUV, backed by extensive miles of mapped hands-free roads and experience from Cruise's driverless technology. Starting in 2026, GM will integrate conversational AI powered by Google Gemini, enabling natural, intuitive interaction between drivers and their vehicles, with plans to develop a proprietary AI personalized to individual drivers via OnStar.
