Two arrested after 11-year-old boy killed in Cheshire bike crash
An 11-year-old boy died after being struck by a black Ford Fiesta while riding his bicycle on Booth Lane in Middlewich, Cheshire. The incident occurred near the junction with Tetton Lane around 2:15pm on Monday, and the boy was pronounced dead at the scene. The 19-year-old driver and his 19-year-old passenger, both from Stoke-on-Trent, were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and aiding or abetting dangerous driving, respectively, and have since been released on bail as police continue their investigation. Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage, particularly of a black Ford Fiesta and a black Seat Leon traveling together on the A533 before the collision. Floral tributes and cards have been placed at the scene in memory of the boy, with the community expressing condolences. The boy’s family is being supported by specialist officers during this difficult time.
