Toby Keith's Horse to Run in 2025 Derby

Render Judgment, co-owned by the late country singer Toby Keith, will compete in the 151st Kentucky Derby on May 3, 2025, fulfilling Keith's lifelong dream. Keith, who died from cancer in February 2024, had aspired for over 30 years to see a horse from his Oklahoma-based Dream Walkin’ Farms, founded in 2001, race in the Derby. Render Judgment entered the field as a late addition after Tappan Street was withdrawn due to injury. This marks the first time a Dream Walkin’ Farms horse has qualified for the Derby, despite the farm’s previous racing successes. The horse will start from the 15th post, a detail carrying sentimental significance for Keith’s family and supporters. Keith's family and friends have expressed pride in achieving this milestone for his legacy.
