Falcons, Coach Fined $350K Over Prank Call Incident

Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich and the team were fined $100,000 and $250,000, respectively, after Ulbrich's son, Jax, prank-called NFL draft pick Shedeur Sanders using confidential information obtained from Ulbrich's iPad. The prank involved impersonating the New Orleans Saints' general manager and falsely suggesting Sanders would be drafted, only to reveal it was a joke. Both Ulbrich and the Falcons publicly apologized to Sanders and acknowledged the breach of data security, with Ulbrich taking full responsibility for not safeguarding player information. The NFL cited the need to deter future incidents by emphasizing the importance of protecting confidential draft information. Sanders, who was eventually selected by the Cleveland Browns, called the prank "childish" but said it didn't affect him. The Ulbrich family will participate in community service initiatives as part of their response to the incident.
