Multiple Major Road Closures Planned Across US Cities October 20

Several road closures are scheduled across the United States beginning October 20, 2025, to facilitate essential repair and construction work. In Swift Current, a segment of 6th Avenue Northeast between Bray Street and Herbert Street East will be closed for outfall repairs, with detours posted. Similarly, North Belt West in Belleville, Illinois, between Ruth Street and West Washington Street will close for Norfolk Southern to rehabilitate a railroad crossing, with the closure expected to last until October 24 and detours in place. In Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, Riverside Drive will close between West River and Sheldon Streets from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on October 20 due to utility work by UGI. Lastly, in Rapid City, South Dakota, U.S. Highway 385 from the south end of Pactola Dam to Taylor Ranch Road will be closed to through traffic until March 2026 as part of a construction project, although local access to certain roads and reservoir facilities will be maintained.
